The loss of a loved one is a traumatic event at any age, but it can provoke a lot of questions for young children. As the parent or caregiver, your children will often look to you for answers and affirmation of what they are feeling. Once the shock wears off and routines start to resume, your child may not be okay—and that is okay. At Lost & Found our goal is to be honest with children and give them a safe space to learn how to communicate all the emotions they are experiencing. We value your trust in us and aim to give you the highest quality of care and resources based on the most current research.
Children will act as if they are doing okay, as long as they can. We encourage you to get your children involved in support groups at Lost & Found, before problems become apparent.
